Meet Our Board of Directors

Gary Danes |
|
After having watched City Academy grow from a distance over the past several years, Gary is pleased to be able to be a regular part of the CA community. Gary is the Associate Provost for Integrative Learning at Westminster College and is responsible for several initiatives there--civic engagement, environmental initiatives, learning communities, and faculty and staff development among them--all of which aim to deepen student learning and connect it to the real world. His job is to help integrate their activities so that Westminster's students achieve the college's learning goals.
Gary is a historian by training. Before joining Westminster three years ago he taught and did administrative work at BYU. His wife Kristine and he have four daughters, and live in Pleasant Grove. His children attended the Sundance Mountain charter school several years ago, and he served on that board as a parent. Kristine and the girls are quite musical. Among them they play piano, oboe, violin, guitar, trumpet, and drums. Gary occupies his free time serving in the community, doing laundry, driving carpools, and running on the trails in the hills near his home.
