City Academy focuses on:
Unique & Individualized Education
At City Academy Elementary, we foster a nurturing foundation for our youngest learners in kindergarten through second grade.
Every child is challenged to reach their unique potential with individualized support. We do this as we help students create their own individualized education plans.
Curriculum: We will be using the Amplify curriculum to teach reading, writing, math, and science. In addition, we will be integrating music into our academic lessons as a way to help build the values of creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and commitment through our unique curriculum
.
With support from the Diana and Joel Peterson School of Music's GRIT program, City Academy will incorporate music into daily learning to enhance creativity and development. Here is a sample of our vision for how this will grow and progress as students continue their education at City Academy and the Gifted Music School.
City Academy and Peterson School of Music GRIT Vision
Not only is music integrated into the curriculum, but dedicated time is also allocated every day for learning music through the Kodály and Suzuki Methods.
Students as Citizens
We believe in building the values of creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and commitment through our unique curriculum.
At City Academy, we teach students to be a part of their City (community) and train them in ways to impact and lead in their communities.
